About this service
What wallpaper hanging really involves — and who it's for.
What it is
Full wallpaper installation — designer papers, hand-printed murals, grass-cloth, silk, vinyl, embossed and bespoke commission papers. Walls properly prepared, paper hung straight, seams invisible, patterns perfectly aligned.
Who it's for
Interior designers commissioning expensive paper, homeowners committing to a feature wall, and commercial clients installing branded environments.
When you need it
After plaster has fully cured, after walls have been lined where needed, and ahead of any furniture or skirting refit.
Why it matters
Designer wallpaper is unforgiving. A mis-cut on a £400/roll de Gournay panel is a five-figure mistake. The skill is in the prep, the lining, the cutting and the patience.
What happens if it's done badly
The mistakes that cost the most — and how we avoid them.
Bad walls show through expensive paper
Unlined, uneven or chalky walls telegraph every flaw through the finished paper — and there's no fixing it without stripping back and starting again.
Pattern errors are permanent
A pattern misaligned by 3mm across a four-drop wall is the first thing the eye lands on. And the paper is already cut.
Cheap paste, expensive disaster
The wrong adhesive on grass-cloth or silk stains the face of the paper from behind. Once it's up, it's ruined.
Our process
Five quiet, considered steps from first call to sign-off.
01
Consultation & spec check
We confirm the paper specification, paste type, lining requirement and quantity needed — and flag any issues before paper is ordered.
02
Wall preparation
Walls cleaned, repaired, sanded flat and primed. Lining paper hung horizontally where the substrate or finish paper demands it.
03
Cutting & sequencing
Pattern repeat measured, drops cut, numbered and sequenced. Waste minimised; pattern carried correctly across corners and openings.
04
Precision hanging
Drops hung plumb, seams butted invisibly, pattern matched, excess trimmed clean at ceiling and skirting.
05
Inspection & handover
Full raking-light inspection, paste cleaned from face, walk-through with you, and any spare paper labelled and left.
Why clients choose us
Specific, concrete reasons — not vague promises.
Invisible seams
Butted, rolled and inspected — the standard of work designer papers demand.
Perfect pattern matching
Drop sequencing planned before the first cut so the pattern flows the way the designer intended.
Lined where it matters
We line walls when the paper or substrate needs it — even when the spec doesn't ask for it.
Specialist material handling
Grass-cloth, silk, foiled and hand-printed papers all hung with the right paste and the right technique.
Designer-trusted
Regularly specified by interior designers across London and the Home Counties.
Workmanship I stand behind
Backed in writing — if a seam lifts or a butt opens because of how it was hung, we come back and fix it.
The detail behind the work
Materials, methods and the variations that matter.
Wallpaper hanging is a specialist trade. The difference between a competent painter who hangs paper and a paperhanger who paints is everywhere on the finished wall.

Frequently asked
Straight answers, conversion-focused.
If your question isn't here, call 07730 008046 or get in touch.
How much does it cost to hang wallpaper?
Standard papers typically run £35–£55 per roll hung, plus lining where required. Hand-printed and bespoke papers (de Gournay, Fromental) are priced per project on survey.
Do you supply wallpaper or do I?
Either. Most clients supply their own designer paper; we'll happily order trade if preferred. We always confirm quantity and pattern repeat in writing before you commit.
Do I need to line the walls first?
It depends on the paper and the wall. We'll advise honestly — and line walls where the spec calls for it even if the manufacturer doesn't insist.
How long will hanging take?
A typical single room is 1–2 working days including prep. Hand-printed murals and complex drops take longer — quoted per project.
Can you hang grass-cloth and silk?
Yes — with the correct clear paste and careful handling. These are specialist materials and not every paperhanger will quote them.
What if I order short?
We measure carefully and quote roll quantity in writing before you order. If a paper is short we'll flag it before any cuts are made.
Will the paper last?
A correctly hung designer paper on properly prepared walls lasts 10–20 years. We back the workmanship in writing for —nths.
Can you hang in bathrooms and kitchens?
Yes — with vinyl or vinyl-coated papers and the right paste. Pure paper papers are not recommended for high-humidity rooms.
Do you cover my area?
Yes — wallpaper installation across London, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Essex, Middlesex and Northamptonshire.
